Striders 2008 Road Race Championships

The Striders Road Race Championships is a series of nominated races through the year in which club members are competing against others from within the club. Points are gained according to the respective finishing positions relative to other Striders in the same age/gender category. Presentations are made to the leading runners in each category at the A.G.M. following the competition. In addition the club perpetual shields are presented to the leading runner in each of the various categories. See final results for 2008>>

Rules of the Club Road Race Championships

A minimum of 6 of the nominated races have to be completed to qualify for the championships. 25 points are awarded in each race to the 1st male/female Strider in each age category, 24 points are awarded in each race to the 2nd male/female Strider in each age category etc. Age categories for women are: senior; over 35; over 45 and over 55. Age categories for men are: senior; over 40; over 50 or over 60. Age categories are determined by your age on the date of the first race of the series. In the event of a tie at the end of the year within a category the winner would have been decided by a) head to head times, b) number of races completed, c) drawing of lots.
